How to get to us
How to get to Saint-Chaptes, in Uzège, in the Gard,
1° By road
If you arrive from the south-east, in the direction of Alès or Uzès:
- via the A7 ("Autoroute du Soleil") from Valence/Lyon:
- Solution 1: exit Montélimar sud (exit 18),
It is possible to exit before Montélimard South (especially if the section between Valence and Montélimard is quite busy), but the national road then crosses many villages and roundabouts, which lengthens the journey in time.

For our friends from the north of Europe who come from Belgium, a relatively new motorway has been opened which allows you to avoid going through Luxembourg and the Metz-Nancy region (from where you usually take the motorway back to Toul) and which is not a very pleasant stretch of road where the speed limits change very often, with a busy road and many speed cameras. And moreover this new route is shorter in km. :-) From Brussels to Reims the road is relatively fast with many sections of motorway that remain free of charge, only returning to the toll motorway from Reims. When leaving Brussels, you have to go through:
-
-
- Charleroi (the crossing is a bit surprising with fast lanes at the level of the houses in some places).
- Philippeville
- Couvin
- Rocroi (you will find the A304)
- Charleville-Mézières (then the A34)
- Rethel
- Reims (Autoroute A4, with toll).
-
If you like to discover the countryside and take your time making your journey a real trip, we can also recommend taking the Cévennes route from Lyon/St Etienne and passing through the Pilat Regional Nature Park and the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park.
2° By train
Numerous TGVs (even direct from Brussels to Nîmes or Brussels to Avignon in just 4.5 to 5.15 hours) allow you to travel relaxed and at ease.
The list of stations is at the top of the page.
Car rental services have improved considerably at Nîmes station and there are many offers.
It is also possible to organise a shuttle to pick you up at one of the stations in Nîmes or Avignon, or to organise a taxi according to our availability.
3° By plane
Several regional airports have routes with so-called "low-cost" operators with regular routes all year round and also other routes between late spring and early autumn.
Some of the larger airports such as Marseille are within easy reach and it is also possible to reach the lodge by train and public transport or by renting a car (either at the airport or at the SNCF station at the end of your transfer to Nîmes or Avignon). It is also possible to arrange a taxi or even a shuttle depending on availability.
