From February 9 to September 1st, 2024, the ephemeral exhibition “The Copper Route” offers the opportunity to discover a fascinating artistic collaboration between Picasso and the engraver Aldo Crommelynck.
A story of engraving highlighting etchings made by Pablo Picasso with the illustrious engraver Aldo Crommelynck.
In 1961, Picasso moved to Mougins with his wife Jacqueline.
He lived there for his last twelve years and despite his age, his inspiration remained prolific in painting, drawing, sculpture and engraving.
The presence of the engraver Aldo Crommelynck in 1963 gave Picasso the opportunity to rely on a great specialist.
The multiple back and forths between the two men allowed the creation of more than 750 boards and provide an overview of these years of intense creation.
This exhibition of 48 engravings is made possible thanks to the loan of Corinne Buchet-Crommelynck!
